Two peanuts are walking down the street. One of them was a-salted. Get it!? Assaulted?! ... ok well, it is funnier not written out. ANYWAY, i'm pretty sure everyone just looks at the pictures and doesn't bother to read so I'm just having fun. :o)
But.... just in case you ARE reading.... Hi!
I'd really like to meet a strong, confident, independent, smart, considerate and thoughtful woman. I'd prefer someone who is open-minded, well-rounded, non-religous, vegetarian, and who could equally enjoy a symphony in the park or attending a playoff hockey game. I'd like a woman who enjoys getting out of the house and trying new things, but who also takes time to smell the roses. I'd appreciate someone with opinions, passions and into philosophical conversation, even if we don't agree on everything. If you identify with the bulk of this, we should talk!
I am originally from Houston, but I spent most of the last decade living in Austin and then in Portland before finding my way back home. I'm currently committed to a few more years here, but beyond that, I'd prefer to not stay in Houston, or Texas, forever. I still make my way to Austin a great deal; I have a goddaughter and some of my best friends there. I actually travel all over the place any chance I can; right now I'm trying to decide where in the southern hemisphere I want to make a trip out of this fall. Suggestions?
I'm an adventurer, musician, hockey player, animal lover, disc golfer, runner, photographer, coffee snob, and a generally well-rounded person who hopes he has enough time in life to experience... everything!
I'm a wuss about most things 'medical'. I hate hospitals. I cannot give blood, and I seriously struggle with vaccinations; I had to get 6 before I went to India. 4 shots in and my heart rate and blood pressure dropped so low so fast that I ended up on the floor pale as a ghost. BUT... I can sleep through tattoos no problem. Go figure.
People have called me an old soul. They were referring to the way I do everything the 'ancient' way. I still listen to music on vinyl, and via a vacuum tube stereo. I use a french press and grind my own coffee beans, often by hand. I avoid drive-throughs and park to go inside instead. I have a TV antenna sitting in my window because I don't have cable (this is more a function of me never watching watching TV than anything else though). Stuff like that.
Some more quirks about me: I'm a long-time vegan. And I also HATE cilantro - worst substance on the planet! Ick ick ick. I also don't drink. But that's not cuz I'm a recovered alcoholic or anything. I just don't like it. I'll still hang out with friends at bars and will go out and things. I do have some tattoos and have toured a lot with punk and metal bands in the past. I'm still semi-involved in screamy music these days, but I'm pretty modest about it; I wouldn't expect you to like it and I won't subject you to it. I've actually been entertaining the idea of playing in a country band lately, but I'd probably fit as well as.... actually just about as well as I fit it with most of Houston. So yeah.
