I live an integrated mix of the conventional and unconventional. My fascinations/passions include cats, books, yoga, the paranormal, true crime, travel, trance music and good wine.
I don't have or want children. I can't imagine having to tell a child how fantastic their scribbles are day after day, or needing to make sure every day is filled with fun and interesting activities so as not to ruin their little lives. That said, my nieces and nephew are a source of constant entertainment and love.
There is absolutely no shame in the crazy cat lady moniker for me. Although I am only a cat hoarder in my fantasies due to strict limits on the number of pets allowed in my condo complex, someday I hope to retire in Ibiza and keep all the feral cats there fed. I have a dark sense of humor, and like to find the "funny" in any situation. There's so much of it, it's almost overwhelming at times.
During the week I am the CFO for a residential real estate brokerage, and I own a condo in the West Hills, as well as a rental property in the same building. Financial security is important to me, but my interests really have not a lot to do with money. My hobbies aren't expensive with the exception of traveling as far and wide and as often as I can. Favorite travel destinations so far have included Ibiza, Spain; Turkey; New York City; the desert Southwest; Amsterdam; and Paris. Places I haven't enjoyed as much include Hawaii, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
I love listening to the latest releases from trance artists all over the world and love the Soundcloud mixes that are so readily available. I remember the days when a trance fan had to spend 24 hours downloading a single live show from Europe. And now, Portland has its very own trance DJ with monthly shows that are AWESOME! My fave trance artists are Armin Van Buuren (of course), Markus Schultz, Matt Darey, DJ Eco, Dash Berlin, Above & Beyond, ATB, Aly & Fila, Roger Shah, Blank & Jones, John O'Callaghan, Paul Van Dyk, Andy Moor, and Kyau & Albert.
I love anything paranormal and watch as many of the new ghostie type shows as I can. I am loving that the paranormal is now a fad, as it supplies endless documentation of other people's experiences.
Lately I've been reading The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder and learning more about raw food advantages, but haven't made the leap to eating this way full time. I'm not sure I ever will. But it's been an interesting thing to dabble in and consider.
